After a meet and greet weekend, the Romanian language school is currently in session for all our classes. This semester we learn Romanian by traveling virtually throughout the country.  

The registration for Music & Rhymes class for 4-7 years old is still is open. These classes start in mid-October.

As a Romanian community partner in the US, we are happy to promote in Connecticut the Romanian American National Heritage Awards 5th edition, 2021. This is an annual competition for youth with Romanian heritage or background. Participants must be enrolled in High School in the United States for the 2020-2021 academic year. Applicants of non-Romanian descent may qualify, as long as their work and experience relate to Romania or the Romanian community in the US.
The deadline to apply is 30 September 2021.
The annual award is presented by the American Romanian Cultural Society, Alianta, and Romanian United Fund, with the endorsement of the Embassy of Romania to the United States.
All eligible participants will receive the official recognition of the Romanian Embassy in the United States and the top winners will receive scholarships of up to $500 dollars each.
The award has helped the recipients distinguish themselves in their admission process to top colleges and institutions, such as Dartmouth College, Wesleyan Univ, Pitzer College, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, Whitman College, Purdue Univ, UW Honors, and many others.

Romȃnul Corp is inviting you to a special midsummer event on Sunday, June 20 at the Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford CT starting with 4 PM.

We invite you to wear your traditional Romanian blouse and to join us in celebrating this global movement and a great modern tradition of the Romanian-American communities and of the Romanians everywhere.

This is an event centered on the Romanian blouse, organized for the first time in Connecticut, on the longest day of the year!

We invite Romanian-American businesses from Connecticut to promote their business at this event or to sponsor the event.

The organizer provides the rented pavilion (nr. 2), cold soft drinks and snacks. We suggest a donation of min. $10 at the event or online at via Paypal to cover for the expenses. Thank you for your support!

This is an event celebrated around the summer solstice day and St. John’s nativity day (Sȃnzienele, June 24). Since this year June 20 falls on Father’s Day in the US, this is also a special way to celebrate the fathers in our community.

* Special credits for the idea go to the La Blouse Roumaine community, which on June 17, 2021 will launch a platform and a magazine dedicated entirely to this subject. 

NEW June 6, 2021: The Romanian Language School at the end of the first semester of classes

The Romanian Language School (online) organized by Romanul Corp opens the Spring ’21 classes during the March 6-7 weekend. Registration is currently closed. We thank you all those who have already registered and those who show an interest in learning Romanian. We plan on organizing Summer and Fall sessions.

Dragi prieteni,

Sperăm că sunteţi cu toţii bine ȋn această perioadă tumultoasă ȋn situaţia actuală legată de măsurile de prevenție ce trebuie luate ȋmpotriva răspȃndirii coronavirusului.

Organizaţia Romȃnul Corp ȋmpreună cu Consulatul Onorific al Romȃniei ȋn Hartford  lanseaza propunerea de a ajuta pe cei care nu se pot expune ȋn public. E o ocazie remarcabilă să demonstrăm că ne gândim unii la alții și că putem fi uniţi mai ales acum în vremuri de molimă și izolare.

Pentru cei care doresc sa ajute in cadrul comunitatii romanesti din Connecticut, am deschis o pagina de donatii: Sumele adunate vor merge catre persoane care au nevoie de măști de faţă, alimente sau alte servicii.

Dacă știţi ȋn comunitatea romȃno-americană persoane în vârstă care locuiesc singure sau persoane cu nevoi speciale care au nevoie de cumpăraturi (alimente sau medicamente), ȋi putem ajuta ȋmpreună. Sunt multiple metode disponibile de achizitionare de bunuri sau oferire de servicii:

• Comandă pe Internet efectuata si livrata la domiciliu de către magazin
• Comanda pe Internet efectuata de magazin, dar ridicata si livrata la domiciliu de catre voluntari, fara contact fizic dintre voluntari si membrii communitatii.
• Comanda pe baza de lista preluata, efectuata, si livrata de voluntari, fara contact fizic dintre voluntari si membrii communitatii.

Actualizare: ȋn Romȃnia, aceeași idee de a ajuta pe cei vulnerabili s-a format spontan pe baza unui grup de voluntari. Cumpărături la ușa ta  – un proiect de reacţie rapidă. Distribuiţi mai departe pentru cine are nevoie de ajutor in Romania.


Conform informaţiilor de la US Center for Disease Control (CDC), se recomandă ca persoanele ȋn vârstă sau cu afecţiuni medicale pre-existente, fiind cele mai vulnerabile ȋn caz de contaminare cu coronavirus, să evite expunerea in public, ȋn magazine, săli de adunare de orice fel, autobuze, trenuri, etc.

De asemenea, CDC recomandă izolarea voluntară la domiciliu, pentru orice alte persoane, aparent perfect sanatoase, dupa un presupus contact cu alte persoane posibil contaminate. Dupa contactarea medicului de familie pentru stabilirea unui plan de actiune personalizat, daca va aflati in imposibilitatea de a va parasi domiciliul si aveti nevoie de ajutor cu obtinerea unor lucruri din afara, va rugam cititi mesajul de mai jos.

Nu uitați că pentru prevenirea contaminării cu virus, igiena mâinilor si a feței este foarte importantă. În caz că suspectați că ați luat contact cu persoane contaminate, contactați medicul sau 211 ori, in caz de urgență, sunati la 911.

Numai bine și multă sănatate tuturor!

Sunt invitați toți membrii organizației precum și simpatizanți, voluntari sau potențiali membri. Vă rugăm să vă confirmați prezența răspunzând pe pagina de Facebook sau trimițând un email la
*Vă reamintim că adunarea generala este deschisă publicului dar drept de vot au doar membrii activi cu cotizația platita la zi (oricând între februarie 2019 și data adunării generale). Cotizatia se poate plati si pe loc la adunare. Pentru plata cotizației ($50 adult și $25 senior sau student) puteți vizita aici sau pentru a deveni membru:
Daca doriți să veniți cu copiii, spațiul de întâlnire are săli pentru activități și joacă pentru copii. La întalnire se vor servi soft drinks, snacks si pizza; vă rugam să confirmați participarea pentru a estima numărul de participanți.

As an independent production funded entirely by crowdsourcing, this is the first feature film to depict the notorious Pitești Experiment in early communist Romania (1949-1952) under Soviet occupation. 

Director and Co-Screenwriter Victoria Baltag is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in History and Anthropology at the University of London.  She also holds an MFA in Film, History, and Television from the University of Birmingham.
