Ana Maria has earned a BA and MA in Psychology from the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, Romania, and a PhD degree in Psychology of Creativity at the same institution. She worked in various educational research and intervention projects, focused on the evaluation and support of academic motivation and persistence, and reducing dropout in students enrolled in Romanian public schools, but also in alternative educational programmes (such as the IB programme) and in special education institutions. Her published work covers topics ranging from creativity to moral psychology, vocational behavior, psychology of science and technology, intragroup conflict, and group cognitive synergy. At “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, she also worked as a teaching assistant, supporting the “Classroom Management” and “Educational Research Methodology” courses in the Education Sciences area of study. Ana Maria is currently an affiliated member of the “Motivation, Self & Well-being Laboratory”, a team of researchers established at her alma mater in Iași, and a member of the International review panel of the International Journal of Creativity and Human Development. As a member of the Romanian-American community in Connecticut, she volunteers as a research analyst for the Honorary Consulate of Romania in Connecticut, where she is in charge with researching a broad range of topics, event planning, and revising the contents of the consulate website.
