Marinela Nicolescu

Scoala Romanul

Marinela Nicolescu joined Romanul School in the Fall of 2023. She is an elementary school teacher with professional experience from Romania and the United States. Marinela received her teaching degree in 1981 from Deva Pedagogical High School (today’s National Pedagogical College Regina Maria), and a Law degree from Babeș-Bolyai University Cluj in 1988. She has lived on three continents so far: Europe (Romania and Sweden), Africa (South Africa) and North America (USA). Her life experience and professional skills are therefore very diverse. While living in Sweden, she received credits from the University of Gothenburg towards a master’s degree focusing on pedagogical studies. Marinela’s work experience in teaching started in Romania and continued as a general education teacher at the elementary school level (grades 1 – 5) at Sonoran Schools in Tucson, AZ since 2008. For the past three years, she has taught online. Additionally, as Sonoran Schools have a very ethnically diverse student body, she had the opportunity to teach an ESL (English as a Second Language) class as well.

When not teaching, Marinela enjoys gardening, watching movies and spending time in the great outdoors.
